At Ocean Homes, we are excited to be moving into to the Garrison Woods, with our new homes, Julia and Sophia. Both our homes, a.k.a “the new kids on the block,” are single family homes that have been designed for real life.
Garrison Woods is a popular highly sought-after neighborhood in Calgary’s southwest quadrant. The neighborhood, located just off of 33rd ave SW, is conveniently located in Calgary’s inner city next to Marda Loop and Altadore.
The community we know as Garrison Woods today, was originally developed in the late 1990’s. The land for Garrison Woods became available when the Canadian Forces closed their Calgary Base. What is now Garrison Woods is built on a former Canadian Forces Bases. Homage to the neighborhoods past can be found throughout the communities grand streets and parks. Many of the roads are names after famous battles our Canadian soldiers fought in (like Vimy Ridge or Somme).

The original Monogram Coffee Shop can be found in Altadore, in the same strip mall as Pegasus (perhaps Calgary’s Best Greek Restaurant). Monogram is a Calgary based coffee shop with a cult like following. Monogram has 4 locations in the city – and makes Calgary’s Best Nut Mylk Latte.
Neighborhood Pub
Found on the border of Altadore and Garrison Woods, the Garrison is the ultimate neighborhood hub! It’s the perfect place to meet up after a softball game as you enjoy a brew or two.

Right next door to The Garrison, is My Favourite Ice Cream Shoppe, a Calgary Classic which has been making Calgarians scream for Ice Cream for over 30 years. If you’re in the mood for Ice Cream, make a My Favourite Ice Cream Shoppe your destination and try one of their 72 flavors on scoop.
