The northeast Calgary neighborhood of Winston Heights/Mountain View is one of the city's best kept secrets. Found west of Deerfoot Trail, North of 16th Ave (HWY1), south of 32nd Ave and east of Edmonton trail, the neighborhood is neatly tucked into Calgary’s inner city.
As a home builder, what we love about Winston Heights/Mountain View is (*obviously the neighborhood’s location) how under the radar the neighborhood is. Most Calgarian’s have no idea Winston Heights/Mountain View exists – which keeps the neighborhood is safe, quiet, and family focused. Located close to the Calgary’s downtown core, just north of Renfrew, Winston Heights/Mountain View is a great neighborhood to invest and live in.

Coffee Shop – Rosso Coffee, Tuxedo (2102 Centre ST N)
The Calgary Based coffer rosters, ROSSO, ventured out of the SE to open one of their cafés in Calgary’s NE. The coffee shop serves delicious locally roasted coffees and has become a central gathering point for NE communities like Winston Heights/Mountain View and Tuxedo.
Greasy Burger – Peter’s Drive In (219-16th AVE NE)
A Calgary staple since 1962, Peter’s Drive is home of Calgary’s BEST milkshake and greasy burger. Gus Pieter’s a Dutch immigrant started Peter’s Drive In back in 1962 with the goal of serving quality fast food at fair prices. For the past seven decades Peter’s has been destination for hungry Calgarians.
Where to Exercise – Renfrew Athletic Park (814 13th AVE NE)
Located just south of Winston Heights/Mountain View, Renfrew Athletic Park is a wide-open sports park with stunning city views. The park features soccer fields, baseball diamonds, and a BBQ area.
Golf Course – The Winston Golf Club (2502 ST NE)
The Winston Golf Club is a semiprivate 18-hole golf course, found in the neighborhood of Winston Heights. The club is a modern oasis for golfers and features public tee times, golf stimulators, and member events. As for golf clubs, The Winston might just be Calgary’s coolest golf course.
Restaurant – White Elephant Thai (1808 19TH NE)
Looking for the ultimate take home meal? When you live in Winston Heights/Mountain View you can easily order White Elephant Thai for dinner. Considered Calgary’s Best Thai restaurant, when you live in Winston Heights, you’ll need to add White Elephant Thai to your weekly meal rotation. We recommend the Swimming Angel, or Peanut Stir Fry.
Family Activity – Telus Spark Science Centre (220 Saint George’s Drive NE)
Located in Calgary’s Nose Creek Valley, Telus Spark is interactive science museum that will engage the whole family. From exciting and interactive exhibits to entertaining and informative presentation, at Telus Spark you and your family can lose track of time as you learn about the wonderful world of science. Don’t have kids, keep your eyes out for Telus Sparks Adult only nights.
Where to Shop – Lina’s Italian Market (2202 Centre ST NE)
Shop Calgary’s original Italian Market for fresh produce, tasty Italian foods, and imported European staples. Lina’s Tuxedo Park Italian Market first opened in 1993. For the past 28 year’s Lina’s has been feeding Calgarians delicious take and bake Italian meals.
