Get Your Home BOOOOOtiful for Halloween

‘Tis the season of spook and terror! And at Ocean Homes, we look forward to October’s return each year as it means we can transform our beautiful homes it to creepy, crawly, haunted houses that lure tricker treaters to our front doors.

With all hallows eve, a.k.a Halloween, fast approaching we thought it would be wicked fun to share some of our favorite decoration ideas to get you and your home ready for a night of spooky fun!

Add a Little Spook to Your Home This Halloween:

The Writing Is on the Wall – Nothing says, “welcome to our Haunted House,” quite like red writing on the walls. Or, for a little EXTRA spook factor consider using a glow in the dark paint. Michaels has a great selection of washable paints.
Stock Your Candy in a Witches Cauldron – Double, double, toil and trouble, fire burn and cauldron bubble! For a very “on theme” candy delivery, give your trick-or-treaters candy freshly “brewed” from your witched cauldron.

Hang Up Some Chicken Wire Ghosts – If you’re inviting ghosts to your Halloween soiree, catch them with chicken wire and cheese clothes. Using chicken wire to create your ghosts will give them a more realistic appearance.

Go Overboard with Candles – Did someone say seance? For a Halloween vibe that invites little goblins in, set up dozens of flame free battery operated candles. Not only will the candles give your home a spooky feel they’ll help illuminate your front door for trick-or-treaters.

Catch Tricker Treaters with a Giant Spiders Web – For many, nothing is scarier than a giant spider. Give your trick-or-treaters a scare a scare with an easy to spin GIANT spider web. To construct the spider web all you need is a little masking tape and a spool of string.

Place Spooky Silhouettes in Your Windows – For an instant curb appeal for your haunted house cut out a bunch of silhouetted figures from cardboard. If you’re not a master sketcher, you can find some creepy silhouettes online.

Be Sure to Light Your Jack-O-Lantern – proper lighting is a must for any games room. If you plan to host a family games night make sure your games table are well lit and that you have soft ambient lighting.

We put a spell on you, and now you’re off to give your home a spooky Halloween makeover. Have fun rolling out the orange carpet, just don’t forget to light your Jack-O-Lantern on the 31st. Your Jack-O-Lantern let’s tricker treaters know you have snacks brewing for them.
